Message from Japan Alumni in Cambodia (JAC)

Happy 50th Anniversary to JUGAS!

On behalf of JAC, I have great pleasure to congratulate JUGAS on its 50th anniversary. Since its inception in 1970, JUGAS has played an important role in fostering relationship between Singapore and Japan and with fellow ASEAN friends through a variety of initiatives and networks. JUGAS’s commitments to supporting ASEAN Council of Japan Alumni (ASCOJA) and Asia Japan Alumni (ASJA) network, a platform for cooperation and collaboration activities among ASEAN chapters and with Japan counterpart, remains strong and even grow with time.

Personally, I am blessed to cross path with JUGAS alumni when JAC hosted the ASCOJA conference and ASJA symposium in Siem Reap back in 2018. Our working relationship grew even more during my tenure as President of JAC in 2019. I am so grateful to have exchanged idea with Mr. Yee Jenn En, immediate past President of JUGAS, other JUGAS alumni members on a variety of topics. Among them, I still vividly remember our discussions on possible cooperation on a win-win relation on business front at JAGAM-ASCOJA ASEAN Entrepreneurship Initiative in Kurla Lumpur in February 2020. I would like to say “Otsukare sama deshita” to the immediate past President, Mr. Yee, and his team for the great job so far. We greatly appreciate the friendship you have extended to us in the past years. I strongly believe that under the new leadership of President Gian Yi-Hsen, he will take JUGAS to new height, as well as our relationship.

Once again, Congratulations!

Yours Sincerely,

Ngov Penghuy
